My Brilliant Career

Miles Franklin(1879–1954) was born Stella Maria Sarah Miles Franklin in Talbingo, New South Wales. Following the publication of My Brilliant Career, she worked as a nurse and journalist and became active in the Australian feminist movement. Sandra Gilbert, coauthor of the influential The Madwoman in the Attic, is the author of seven collections of poetry, a memoir, and numerous critical works.
