A distant relative of the Wright brothers, David K. Wright was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana, on Ohio's western doorstep. He attended college in Ohio and received his draft notice one day after graduation. Inducted into the army and sent over to Vietnam, he soon realized how little he knew of the world. A disabled vet returning from Asia, David worked as a reporter and editor for several Midwestern daily newspapers before moving on to become a jack-of-all-trades freelance writer. How many trades? When people ask, "What kind of writing do you do?" he always replies, "Whattaya got?" The result is a resume that spans a quarter of a century and includes more than 40 books, on subjects as diverse as corporate management, assessing the 1960s, and Minnesota taverns. David obtained his first Moon Handbooks assignment in 1997 and is always looking for new and exciting adventures. "No matter where I am, I want to be elsewhere," he says. "That's an itch I've never been able to stop scratching." David now lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with his wife, Linda, two dogs, three cats, and a Suzuki motorcycle. His favorite places are northern Thailand, Lake Superior, and anywhere in Ohio. He has never voted for anyone who won, turned down a drink, or passed on dessert.Wright, David is the author of 'Moon Handbooks Ohio', published 2003 under ISBN 9781566914901 and ISBN 1566914906.
