Minority Status, Oppositional Culture and Schooling

John U. Ogbu, an anthropologist, was Chancellor and Alumni Distinguished Professor of Anthropology, University of California, Berkeley, and a Member of the National Academy of Education. He died in 2003 before this book was completed. A well known writer and researcher in the field of minority education, Ogbu authored numerous books and articles on the subject.
