Lux is a clinical psychologist and social theorist whose written work has focused on the interface of humanistic psychology and economics. He co-authored, with Mark Lutz, The Challenge of Humanistic Economics and Humanistic Economics: The New Challenge and is the author of Adam Smith's Mistake. In addition to these books, Lux has written numerous articles that have appeared in academic and professional journals. He has made presentations at various conferences, workshops, and universities including Omega Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and The Nearing Center. Lux, who moved to Maine in 1972 and now lives and practices in Auburn, received his B.A. from Queens College, City University of New York in 1961 and his Ph.D. in psychology from Indiana University in 1967.
