Dixon Long, professor emeritus at Case Western Reserve University, lives in Marin County, California, where he writes fiction. For the past eleven years, he has lived part-time in Provence, learning about the markets, products, and geography of the region. Ruthanne Long has been a food consultant for wineries in Napa Valley, California as well as a public relations firm. She has traveled widely in Western Europe and the Mediterranean.
