Raman Sukumar is a Professor of Ecology at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. He is also Chair of the Asian Elephant Specialist Group of IUCN (World Conservation Union), and Honorary Director of the Asian Elephant Research and Conservation Centre at Bangalore.
