"Back in early 2004, when D was still a fledgling language, Tango existed as two discrete projects. A small generic library was available at the time, but many felt that it could be improved. Work began on both low-level and high-level community-driven libraries, called Ares and Mango, respectively. Early in 2006, an effort was started to combine these two libraries, significantly reshape the API, and document the result in a variety of ways. Like many engineers, we found it easier to wrangle the code than to write about it, yet over time, a set of online documentation evolved to reflect the library facilities. This book is a natural extension of that documentation, written with the expectation that it would serve as a vehicle for focusing and condensing our knowledge of Tango as a library and our experiences with D as an engineering language." "We hope to have achieved that goal, and that this book can serve as a guide to both the D language and the Tango library. The pace is brisk, given the relatively small size of the book, yet we feel the important aspects of both are covered in sufficient detail to make you fully productive. We hope you agree, and find this book to be a valued asset as you explore the benefits of using these tools."--BOOK JACKET.Bell, Kris is the author of 'Learn to Tango with D', published 2008 under ISBN 9781590599600 and ISBN 1590599608.
