Susan Easton Black began teaching at Brigham Young University in 1978. She is a professor of Church history and doctrine and a former associate dean in General Education and Honors at BYU. A recipient of the Karl G. Maeser Distinguished Lecturer Award, she is the author of numerous articles and books. The author and artist previously collaborated on Joseph Smith: Impressions of a Prophet, published in 1998. Susan and her husband, Harvey, live in Provo, Utah, and are the parents of eight children Liz Lemon Swindle, a lifelong Utah resident, studied fine arts at Utah State University. Her one-woman show of Christian art traveled to cities nation-wide in the summer of 1997.
