Prof. Dr. Juumlet;rgen Pilz holds a PhD and DSc. degree in Applied Statistics. He had been with the Technical University of Freiberg, Germany, for 15 years, first as scientific co-worker at the Dept. of Mathematics and since 1992 as Professor of Mathematical Geology at the Dept. of Geosciences. Since 1994 he has been with the University of Klagenfurt in Austria, as Professor of Applied Statistics, and he has been chairing the Research Group of Applied Statistics since then. He is head of the Department of Statistics at the University of Klagenfurt since its foundation in 2007.
