Born in Naples in 1900, Rico Lebrun came to the United States in 1924. After a highly successful career as a commercial artist in New York, in the 1930s he turned full time to drawing and painting. He moved to California in 1938, Between 1940 and his death in 1964, his work achieved international stature; it is widely represented in major museums in the United States and Europe.
