Adriel Heisey drew inspiration from his years flying over the extraordinary landscape of the American Southwest as a pilot for the Navajo Nation, and now devotes himself to artistic interpretation of natural and cultural landscapes through aerial photography. His photo essays also have appeared in magazines such as National Geographic, Smithsonian, and Arizona Highways. He lives with his wife Holly in Tucson, Arizona Kenji Kawano was born in Japan and came to America in 1973. Drawn to the Navajo Reservation, Kawano found work as a photographer for the Navajo Nation, and later Navajo Times Today. A chance meeting with Carl Gorman in 1975 led to his appointment as official photographer for the Navajo Code Talkers Association and publication of his first book, Warriors: Navajo Code Talkers, in 1990. Kawano, wife Ruth, and daughter Sakura live in Tucson, Arizona Peterson Zah served as Navajo Tribal Council Chairman from 1983 to 1987, and President of the Navajo (Dine) Nation from 1990 to 1994.
