Terry Longhurst was born in the village of Wouldham in Kent, England. He studied at the Medway College of Art where he gained his National Diploma of Art, with first-class honors. His career was interrupted by two years of National Service which was enjoyably spent in Cyprus. On his return, he was employed first by Reed International and then by Letraset International. Since 1977 Terry has worked as a freelance artist and has illustrated for most of the top London advertising agencies. Apart from his commercial work, he is a keen watercolor painter and has frequently exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society, the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, the Royal Institute of British Artists, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, and has had paintings accepted by the Royal Academy in London.
