Hannah Alexander is the pseudonym of husband-wife writing team Cheryl and Mel Hodde (pronounced "Hoddee"). When they first met, Cheryl had published several magazine articles, and Mel had just begun his new job as E.R. medical director in Cheryl's hometown. On their first, set-up date-a sneak attack by Cheryl's matchmaking pastor-Cheryl asked Mel, "Could you help me paralyze someone?" He was, naturally, taken aback, until Cheryl explained she needed the medical information for a novel she was writing. They were married eighteen months later. Soon after the wedding, they began to work together on a new novel with a medical setting, which they entitled Sacred Trust. When that manuscript sold to a publisher, they wrote five more novels set in the emergency department of a fictitious small-town hospital in the Ozarks. Hideaway is the first of a brand-new series of inspirational suspense novels set in another fictitious Ozarks community.
