Hand Luggage A Memoir in Verse

Hand Luggage, as its sub-title says, is a memoir in verse. The fact that it is different from anything I have previously written, is not surprising. I frequently change formats: poetry, short stories, children's books, a Brazilian memoir. In Hand Luggage, I have changed again. I have used a much more colloquial voice -- verse, in fact. And unlike most of my earlier work, it is bare-facedly about me.I couldn't have written it earlier because my life was still mid-stream. Now, nearly a nonagenarian, I wanted to review my past while I still could. It is by no means exhaustive. Much is omitted, much passed over lightly. The heavy stuff is in the trunks.Page, P.
