Guns of Devil's Den

Number 2 in the historical fiction series, GEORGE SAVAGE: GUNS OF THE CIVIL WAR. In this second book, George and his friend, Micah Morse transfer to the 3rd Arkansas Infantry Regiment, the only non-Texas regiment in the Texas Brigade. They travel from Little Rock, Arkansas to Richmond, Virginia, take part in a campaign around Suffolk, Virginia, then go back north to fight at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. On July 2, 1863 George leads his platoon in the Battle of Devil's Den. Then on the next day, July 3rd, George agrees to accompany General Armistead in the charge up Cemetery Ridge.
