John R. Falk has authored three books on dogs (The Practical Hunter's Dog Book, published by Voyageur Press; The Complete Guide to Bird Dog Training; and The Young Sportsman's Guide to Dogs). His numerous magazine articles on gun dogs, shooting, hunting, and fishing subjects have appeared in Sports Afield, Field & Stream, North American Hunter, Mechanix Illustrated, Ducks Unlimited, and American Sportsman, among others. John served for eleven years as gun dog editor of Guns and Hunting magazine, for nine years in similar capacity for the American Shotgunner magazine, and for ten years as gun dog editor of Shooting Sportsman magazine. The former public relations manager of Olin Corporation's Winchester Division, John has hunted extensively in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central and South America, as well as in Italy.
