Guidelines for Development of Foster Care Handbooks: What Foster Youth Have to Say

Entry into foster care is often a difficult transition for children, particularly when they have very little information on the system. To bridge the information gap, the Youth Involvement Initiative brought together youth currently or formerly in foster care to discuss the use and improvement of foster care handbooks. The basic standards of an effective handbook as developed by the group are documented here.
