For many years Galatians 5:21-22 has been one of my favorite scriptures. What struck me the first time I really focused on "Fruit of the Spirit" was what Paul said at the end; "Against these there is no law." God placed in my heart the notion that these fruit Paul listed were in an important order. That love does come first just as Jesus had said when he quoted Deuteronomy 6:5 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength." And He added, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." If love is first then might joy be second I asked? It seemed so, just as it seemed that peace would follow joy and on until one achieves the most coveted of all fruit, that of self-control. It seemed logical to view these coveted fruit in sequence. Doing so has been a significant help to me. I reasoned that I should share it with others who might benefit from such a non-traditional approach to fruit bearing. At the end there are two chapters on prayer. These chapters will give the reader significant insight into how to have a successful prayer life.Nelson, Emmitt J. is the author of 'Fruit of the Spirit', published 2001 under ISBN 9780966489620 and ISBN 0966489624.
