Robert Curtis Ayers is a native of Roanoke/Salem, Virginia, and a graduate of Roanoke College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He served 22 years as the Episcopal Chaplain to Syracuse University, where he was awarded the doctorate in Philosophy in 1981. He is Rector Emeritus of the Church of Saints Peter & John in Auburn, and he lives near Cazenovia, New York.
