In his sixth book of poetry, JOHN SMITH offers a dialogue about being. On December 5, 2002, the Prince Edward Island government appointed JOHN SMITH to a two-year term as the Island's first Poet Laureate. Since then, he has travelled the Island, hosting readings and lectures about poetry throughout the ages, celebrating the form of poetic expression, and raising public awareness of poetry and the spoken word. For thirty years, Smith was a much-respected and much-loved professor of English at the University of Prince Edward Island.
