Drama. Canada's Theatre Passe Muraille first performed this play in the summer of 1972. Director Paul Thompson relates: This is a record of our version of 'grass roots' theatre. The idea was to take a group of actors out to a farming community and build a play of what we could see and learn. There is no 'story' or 'plot' as such. The form of the play is more like a Canadian Sunday School or Christmas Concert where one person does a recitation, another sings a song, a third acts out a skit, etc...The play was not written down, it developed out of interviews, visits, and improvisations. Most of the words used were given to us by community along with their stories...We wanted to capture the fibre of what they were and this seemed the best way to do it. Script prepared by Ted Johns.Johns, Ted is the author of 'Farm Show' with ISBN 9781552450123 and ISBN 1552450120.
