"Ebgelstaling Literatuur na 1945--English literature after 1945--is a three-volume survey introducing the most important authors and tendencies in modern English literature and theory. Anglophone novels are widely known by Dutch and Flemish speakers: they are bought and read in large numbers--non of them translated--and their authors are welcome guests at book fairs and literary events. These collections aim to satisfy the readership's interest in background information, and to give critical insight to the most important currents and figures in modern English literature. The essays each center around a predominant author, whose work is always placed within a wider literary and cultural framework. All articles are written by Belgian and Dutch scholars of English and contain concise references for the further interested reader. The first volume deals with prose from the British lsles; the second volume with prose from North America, Africa and Oceania.D'Hoker, Elke is the author of 'Engelstalige Literatuur NA 1945: Deel 2: Proza - Andere Continenten', published 2004 under ISBN 9789042914421 and ISBN 9042914424.
