C.J. Riley, an architect whose practice includes historic preservation and frequent railroad projects, has been an active member of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) since 1973. Riley has a special interest in railroad history and is the author of numerous articles and books on the subject. He is also a member of the Western Maryland Railway Historical Society, the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Historical Society, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Historical Society, the Pittsburgh Model Railroad Historical Society, and the Iron City Ferroequinological Society.
