Vincent Resh is Professor of Entomology and a Curator of the Essig Museum at the University of California, Berkeley, since 1975. He is the author of more than 250 articles on insects, mainly on the role of aquatic insects in the assessment of water pollution and as vectors of disease. For 22 years, he was an editor of the Annual Review of Entomology and currently serves as an ecological advisor to the United Nations World Health Organization's program on the control of river blindness in West Africa. In 1995, he was elected as a Fellow of the California Academy of Sciences and was the recipient of the University of California at Berkeley's Distinguished Teaching Award Ring Carde joined the Department of Entomology of the University of California, Riverside, in 1996 as Distinguished Professor and holds the position of A. M. Boyce Chair. He previously served on the faculties of the University of Massachusetts and Michigan State University. He has authored more than 200 articles on insect chemical messengers, particularly on moth communication by pheromones, and has edited three books on insect chemical ecology and pheromones.
