ard Lee Rue III has spent much of his life studying, photographing and living with wildlife in its natural habitats. The most published wildlife photographer in North America, he also is the author of 28 books on wildlife, including How I Photograph Wildlife, The Deer of North America, The Way of the Whitetail and The Beavers. He writes monthly columns for Deer & Deer Hunting and Outdoor Photographer magazines. He received the 1987 Outdoor Writers Association of America's "Excellence in Craft" award. In 1990, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Colorado State University for "the dissemination of knowledge on wildlife" and, in 1997, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the North American Nature Photographers' Association (NANPA). In addition to his work as a writer and photographer, Dr. Rue conducts many lectures and seminars on white-tailed deer, turkey and nature photography throughout the country each year. He has also produced 26 photographic, instructional, educational and nature videos. Dr. Rue and his wife, Ursula, own and operate Leonard Rue Video Productions, Inc. which supplies top quality video footage covering the complete realm of wildlife and nature subjects. With his son, Len Rue, Jr., Dr. Rue also owns Leonard Rue enterprises, a company that includes Leonard Rue Enterprises Stock Photo Agency and the L. L.
