Judd Cooney has been active in the outdoor writing and photography field since 1966 and has been a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America for 34 years. He served as OWAA president in 1996 and was chairman of the board in 1997. In 2001, Cooney was inducted into the Bowhunter's Hall of Fame for his contributions in advancing the sport of bowhunting. During the past 30 years Cooney has been actively guiding and outfitting for black bears, elk, mule deer, antelope, whitetails, and turkeys; and when he's not guiding hunters, he is hunting big game throughout the country. Judd's articles or photos appear in many of the outdoor magazines every month, and he specializes in writing about bowhunting, muzzleloader hunting, big game, small game, and predator hunting, along with turkey, waterfowl, and upland game hunting. He has also written about a vast array of outdoor subjects, from flowers to airline travel.
