Dr. Paul Back was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship from South Africa in 1951 and graduated from Oxford University in 1955 with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Engineering Science. His work has taken him all over the world in the design and construction of major engineering projects. He has lectured widely at universities, schools and learned societies, and was the Visiting Professor of Design at Oxford University from 1992 to 1998. He is a member of the adjudicating panel of the Royal Academy of Engineering for the prestigious MacRobert Award to the British engineering and science industry for innovation in industry.
