Caught In Irons: North Atlantic Fishermen in the Last Days of Sail

Michael Wayne Santos spent his formative years listening to his grandfather's sea stories, which he credits with instilling in him a lifelong fascination with maritime subjects. Santos received his B.A. in history from Stonehill College, and his Masters and Doctorate degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University. A professor of history at Lynchburg College, he serves as the founding director of the College's Center for the History and Culture of Central Virginia.
