Warren J. Kiel began studying butterflies, among other natural history subjects, as a teenager. He is the generally acknowledged local expert on the lepidoptera of northern New Hampshire, especially the White Mountain region. He works as a skilled craftsman of fine furniture and lives in Whitefield, New Hampshire Lois de Luca is a graduate of Syracuse University School of Fine Arts. She studied drawing, woodcuts and etching. Nature and nature drawing have been lifelong interests.
