The book of Jasher is a Bible history from the creation of the world to the death of Joshua. Reference to book of Jasher is found in Joshua and second Samuel of the Bible, but the book was "lost" to the early ecclesiastical councils. It confirms most of the bible facts recorded before Joshua's death, but enlarges upon each period of time, and is quite diffuse upon topics that in the Bible are treated with brevity. As to thc authenticity of the work -there is no doubt of it's being a translation from a very ancient Hebraic manuscript. The conversation between Abraham and Isaac, while going to the place of sacrifice, and that between Joseph and his brethren: the reception which Jacob received from Joseph, are all calculated to please, interest, and sustain the claim to authenticity of the work. The book was said to have been discovered at the capture of Jerusalem by the Romans. It was printed in Venice in 1613, from the sacred rolls, which were maintained in Spain since the eleventh century, in the great Hebrew college of Cordova. In 1840, the Book of Jasher for the first time in English.Noah, Mordecai M. is the author of 'Book of Jasher Referred to in Joshua and Second Samuel' with ISBN 9781570744426 and ISBN 1570744424.
