Kristin Clark Taylor is the author of Black Mothers: Songs of Praise and Celebration and The First to Speak: A Woman of Color Inside the White House, a memoir of her experiences as the first African American woman to hold the post of White House director of media relations. She was a member of USA Today's original creation and launch team and worked as an editorial board member, columnist, and writer at the newspaper for its first five years of publication. A former corporate public relations executive, she is now an author, civic leader, lecturer, and communications consultant.
