Born in Kansas December 30, 1926, moved to California in 1926. Introduced to hiking, camping and the Mojave Desert as a young member of the Boy Scouts. While attending college, spare time was sent prowling the desert, camping, exploring and prospecting. Served twelve years on the San Bernardino County Museum Commission and became charter member of The Mojave River Valley Museum Commission. Continues today leading field trips into the Mojave. Currently serving as Wild Life Representative on the San Bernardino County RIAC board, a board that relates to cattle grazing issues in the desert.
