Michel Auger was born in Shawinigan, Quebec, in 1944. He has been a journalist with Le Nouvelliste, Metro-Express, radio station CKVL, and La Presse. Between 1979 and 1984 he was a producer with the CBC television program the fifth estate. Since then, he has been a reporter with Le Journal du Montreal.
