Behavior Change in the Classroom Self-Management Interventions

Edward S. Shapiro is Professor and Coordinator of the School Psychology Program at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. His research focuses primarily on the use of behavioral assessment and interventions for school-based behavior problems. This has included the applications of self-management strategies for both academic and social problems in children and adolescents. Most recently, Dr. Shapiro has been investigating techniques that are effective for training school personnel in challenging behaviors. The Editor ofSchool Psychology Review, the official journal of the National Association of School Psychologists, he is author of three other books and has published numerous journal articles and book chapters. Christine L. Cole is Assistant Professor in the School Psychology Program at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She received her doctoral training in the psychological aspects of exceptionality at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research activities have involved the development and evaluation of self-management approaches to the treatment of challenging behaviors in individuals with developmental and other disabilities.
