Subj: dating ;Posted by: Smurf ; ;I need your help. What do you think about dating? Do you think its ok or should we wait until we know we have the right person? ; ;Dear Smurf, ; ;The Bible does not say that dating is wrong, in fact the Bible never even mentions dating. That's because in biblical times no one dated. All marriages were arranged by the parents. Dating is a fairly new concept. Its purpose is to test out potential mates before marriage. Not a bad concept but it can get you into a lot of trouble. ;First, if you aren't shopping for a mate, then what are you doing when you are dating? Looking for love? Wanting to fit in? I think you need to ask yourself that. ;Second, whatever you do now is practice for later. If you get into the habit of dating someone until you are bored then moving onto the next one 'til you are bored and so on, you are practicing divorce. ;I would counsel you to take it easy on dating until you are ready to start thinking about marriage. Hang out with groups of friends, get to know people, but don't start messing around with hearts until you are ready to commit to forever. ; ;--HayleyMorgan, Hayley is the author of 'Ask Hayley/Ask Justin' with ISBN 9780718001629 and ISBN 0718001621.
