Eliza E. Rathbone, Chief Curator of The Phillips Collection, began her museum career in 1977 at the National Gallery of Art as Assistant Curator of Twentieth Century Art. She joined The Phillips Collection in 1985. She was educated at Smith College and New York University, and she received her M. A. from the Courtauld Institute of the University of London in 1974. Among the many exhibitions of nineteenth- and twentieth-century art she has organized and for which she has written catalogue essays are: Nicolas de Stael in America (1990), Impressionists in Winter: Effets de Neige (1998), Impressionist Still Life (2001) Johanna Halford-MacLeod, Director of Programming and Publications at The Phillips Collection, worked for RILA (Repertoire Internationale de la Litterature de l'Art) for thirteen years, before joining the curatorial department of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. She has been on the staff of The Phillips Collection since 1996. She received her B. A. from the University of Sussex and her M.
